Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Medical Scheduler, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments. Your role is crucial in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling, and maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound and outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments across various departments.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate records.
  • Provide clear and concise information to patients regarding appointment details, directions, and preparation instructions.
  • Send appointment reminders and follow-up communications to reduce no-show rates.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and address scheduling conflicts.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in a medical call center or similar healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical scheduling software; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Bilingual preferred.
