The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong scrub and circulate skills, experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center, and the ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the operating room setting.
- Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
- Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care and related duties in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
- Float to other areas within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in the OR.
- Level 1 Trauma experience.
- Strong scrub and circulate skills.
- Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine).
- Experience in Open Heart/Thoracic procedures.
- Experience in Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology procedures.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
- Call requirements: One 12-hour shift a month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A). No weekday call.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
- No block scheduling.
- No pending licenses accepted.
Scheduling:
- 5x8s, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Every other weekend / 2 weekends per month.
